The Week that Was (April 20-25)
A roundup of what I did, learned, or wanted to share from the week.
I got a lot of likes on my post that was of all the random things and thoughts from last week. And because this is fun for both you and me, let’s keep going! It is kind of like being on IG stories, without being on IG.
Siete corn chips. I love them so much and they have 2 new flavors now. Taco and Mexican Street corn. Both are awesome but Mexican street corn is exceptional. I get them at Whole Foods and wait for a sale (and then buy way too many bags).
Caribou coffee dates with my girls are the perfect little getaway. They aren’t expensive and we bring books or homeschool and get away from the house but it’s still so purposeful. I love their iced tropical green tea. It’s so good with a little stevia. The girls heard about silly sodas and they are like an Italian soda. You can use the sugared syrup or they have sugar-free with erythritol and stevia that doesn’t look too bad. We still need to try that option. Sometimes erythritol can give you a stomach ache so it may not be the best option for you.
I found these wire bunny-proof fence pieces that stick into the ground to prevent the bunnies from getting my tulips and lilies. So far so good. I have a few tulip buds so far and waiting for them to bloom. Last year none of them bloomed because the bunnies ate them to the ground. They don’t eat daffodils because there’s some poison in them, so they don’t need a cage. I also have liquid fence spray to make sure they stay away.
My giant print Bible I got is so easy to read. I needed something gentler on my eyes and this was a great purchase. It’s not the highest quality, but I got it for $23 and I just won’t take all of my deep notes in it.
Mid-day squares are my newest food addiction. I love them so much and the brownie one is by far the best. It’s like a dessert bar and it doesn’t spike my blood sugar. I get mine at Target and wait for a sale to stock up.
I bought some more fabric for another quilt project. I picked up quilting again last fall and have been enjoying putzing away doing easy quilt patterns. I do have to temper the fabric buying. It is WAY easier to buy fabric than to cut and sew it together. And like my mom used to always say, fabric is so fun and makes you happy. So far I don’t have a ton of a fabric stash. I’m feeling good about my purchases so far. But below I’m showing you my new fabrics. It is Botany by Moda if you are wondering.
Working out! I am starting to work out again and being very comitted to it even if some of my dizzy symptoms ramp up. I have learned the deep importance of strength training for supporting my vestibular system. And I need to get stronger for my overall health. So, it begins. I took an iphone video of my first deadlifts with weights in a long time. And my husbands commentary :)
