Which Skincare Brand am I selling now??
HINT: It isn't just one and I'm not all in for any particular one
A Little Business Update (That Isn’t Really That Big)
Sometimes I think you're all waiting for a big business announcement—something flashy or exciting. I know you really aren’t, but I did business at a consistent rate for years and feel like I owe you or owe an answer to myself. But God is leading my business and for now a very small and sporadic business is where it’s at.
Ok, for the update. Honestly? Not much has changed. But still, I like writing these updates every so often to share where I’m at, what I’ve been thinking about, and where I feel pulled to put my time.
The TLDR: I’m still doing much of the same—showing up pretty rarely on social media, dabbling in business, and continuing to offer the same ebooks and courses I’ve created over the last decade. Some I still love and stand by. Others… I’ve quietly retired because they no longer align with what I believe or how I live. But I put them all in a new store front and you can check them out. My favorite and what I believe is the most useful is the Blood Sugar masterclass and The Just Enjoy Dessert ebook.
Lately, I’ve been exploring Arbonne more. When Beautycounter shut down, I looked into Crunchi, Arbonne, and Oliveda. Oliveda didn’t work for me for a couple reasons but mostly because I didn’t fall in love with the products, so I focused on trying products from the other two. I even attended Arbonne’s virtual summit this month to learn more.
The Beautycounter Plot Twist
Beautycounter is coming back—or sort of. It’s now launching as Counter on June 25th. New name, new business model with many of the same products. But the business structure I once built for almost a decade? It’s gone.
It’s now essentially an affiliate program with a few perks. I’ll have a link, and I’ll share it because I know many of you want your favorites again. But I won’t be actively working the business. It’s similar to how I share AirDoctor—just a trusted recommendation, not a business I’m building.
I did see a preview of the products that are launching in June and it is a very truncated product line up. It is all skincare and only 3 makeup products. There are 19 total products. So all of the top favorites will be back (which is probably what you were waiting for anyways). But it is going to launch small and don’t know how much bigger they are going to get.
We have received short calls and information and I just don’t know all that much. It is very different than the insider info we all had when it was a direct sales company.
So What’s Next for me?
I still believe in the power of network marketing when it’s done well. Even with the abrupt end of Beautycounter, I’d do it all again knowing the end would be the same.
But I’m also cautious. I never want to be someone who raves about one company, only to jump to another and say all the same things. I value your trust too much. That’s why I’ve taken my time, prayed, and allowed myself to be in a season of “dabbling” instead of consistent doing.
I love the products from both Arbonne and Crunchi—and you know what? I gravitate towards these in my cabinet pretty equally even over my remaining Beautycounter products (can I really say that?? I guess I just did).
I kept going back and forth and feeling torn about sharing links to three clean beauty brands. But I keep coming back to this: You are grown women who can make wise choices about which brand and products you want to buy from. It’s the same as scrolling the internet, shopping amazon, or going into a department store. You have a lot of brands to choose from. And if you need any specific recommendations or want to stick with one company… let me know. I will give you my best recommendations!
I’m not currently building a team or recruiting, but that could change. If you're interested in learning alongside me, reach out. But I’m not all in… and I’m not called to that in this season.
But I am still committed to providing you the same trusted recommendations to best serve your low-tox life!!
Where I’m Showing Up
Mostly? Here on Substack and in emails. Can I admit something? I don’t miss Instagram at all. After a decade of content creation, I needed a break. I don’t hate the app, and I think it can be used for good. But I’ve stepped off the hamster wheel—and I don’t want to get back on.
Right now, I crave the slow pace of a “blog-style” life. I write when I feel like writing. It’s not strategic or optimized—but it’s honest. And I trust the Lord with the slow next step. And I’m so thankful for you sticking around during this season.
Life After Hustle
Some women thrive juggling business, motherhood, and everything in between. I could do that (sort of) for a season. But it wore me out. Constant “work mode” left me in sympathetic dominance, and the sudden pause after Beautycounter was an unexpected gift. Fourteen months later, I’m still loving the slower pace.
I’ll keep updating you—not out of guilt, but because I want to. I want to share where I am and what God’s doing in my life.
I do want to share some things I’m learning in this season but it isn’t in really teachable moments yet. So I am living it and will share in due time.
